For my brothers birthday I was going to rebuild hic computer. Using an old A10 APU + mobo to replace the cpu and mobo he had. New power supply, 600w bronze evga. Old ram, and new ram I was hoping to add. old HDD with windows 10 on it, but I never got that far. Old gtx 550 ti.

I tried two moniters, both with DVI and VGA hook-ups, and both on the GPU and the mobo. No signal! I suspect it to be a mobo problem, I was getting 6 beeps when there was RAM in 4th slot, moved ram until that stopped - but still no signal.

Here's what I tried so far: I tried using the other CPU 4-pin as power, didn't change anything. tried power on with and wthout GPU. I tried power on without having any drives hooked up to sata or power. I tried unplugging and holding power button for a minute. I tried reseting cmos battery. I tired both types of RAM sticks in ultiple slots (though I might have missed a few combinations). - and yes, I tired turning it off and on again.

I'm sorry if I sound like i'm twelve, I'm typing really fast. Time is of the essence!

I read a couple stickies a decided that I might need to persue ram more. So I tried until I had just one stick in the right most slot (the slot I thought was broken) and it booted! But now I don't know how to get to the bios. It keep saying boot disc not deteced or failed.

I got to the boot menu by pressing esc a bunch. Boot menu seems ancient, motherboard is like a stock HP pavillion mobo. anyway, I saw in the boot that it regonizes the 750GB HDD, but the only options for boot order are "USB Hard Drive", "USB Floppy/CD", "UEFI: IPV4 Network Card', and "UEFI: IPV6 Network Card".

I got everything working! That old ram was causing problems so I put it aside, and now everything boots fine! I'm moving media and games to the new HDD, and then I will use Macrium Reflect to put the leftover OS and programs onto my old SSD! Thanks!
