I just purchased a Gigabyte Z170x-Gaming 7 and noticed there are two ethernet connections on the I/O panel on the back of my case. Upon looking closer they appear to be the same color and have no labels to speak of. I know that one or possible both are advertised as "Killer E2400 gaming network/intel gigabyte lan" and have no idea what this means? Which of the two ethernet plugins should I connect to? Does it matter?

Solution
You have two ethernet ports. One uses is a Killer E2400 and the other is an Intel based lan port. Both are just gigabit lan ports made by two different companies. Typically the Intel's branded ethernet ports are preferred over Killers'. But either is fine.
The one with usb c is the Killer E2400 and the one with two usb ports is the intel one which is shown within the motherboard's manual.
