So to start off, and save you guys the trouble of asking, my specs:

i5 6600k 4.5ghz 1.2v (Full load 55-60c) Hyper 212 evo

Gigabyte z170-UD3 motherboard

16gb's Trident Z 3400MHZ ram

Gigabyte GTX 980 Superclocked Windforce edition (Never breaks 60c on full load)

Haf 912 case

256gb Samsung EVO SSD

I've monitored temps for over 2 weeks and had no fluctuations, tried multiple programs to match up readings, no changes.

I've searched everywhere and not found an answer to this issue.

I've already done all the max performance settings a pre-rendering settings in NVIDIA CP

My issue:

I upgrade about 2 weeks ago, my r9 290 MSI gaming GFX to the GTX 980 Mentioned above.

On overwatch, I run ultra, with 1080p res 145 fps cap (144hz monitor) never dips, smooth as silk.

All my other games also preform better, smoother ETC

Now with CS GO, I was getting average of 500fps on competitive play with my r9 uncapped.

Never dipped below 350-400 even in big action.

With the GTX 980, I'm seeing dips down to 170~ on a regular basis in large action packed situations.

Why is this? I'm not interested in "You can't see more than 60 comments" I completely agree with that, but you can FEEL it, and I do feel it ingame. curious as to what could be causing this, it's the only game suffering!

I was thinking that same thing, but at the same time, I can't be sure that the 980 is outperforming the r9 in overwatch, cause I never reviewed fps with the card, it was just smooth so I didn't care what the fps was lol, but cs go is still very playable, guess I just wanted to make sure I was getting the most out of the card
