That's the one that looks like it is wired wrong on the 6+2 PCIe side. The (+) wires are on the side of the connector with the thumb lever. They should be on the opposite side.
On the CPU connector, the (+) wires are on the correct side.

Just trying to avoid chopping up two good cables to make one.
I suppose I could start to hunt for individual connectors and some wire, though...

i cant check the connector on the female side to see if it is actually a cpu connector and not pcie but i would assume it is because i see no reason to switch the side of the voltage on a pcie extender. it does seem like a odd cable to need do you have an extra cpu power cable?

Yes. I'm dealing with the Dell Precision 875W PSU from our previous thread. It only has 2 x 6-pin PCIE connectors. But it has a 2nd 8-pin CPU cable because the PSU is originally from a dual CPU workstation.
Add to that the fact that The +12V output is split up into 5 x tiny rails 18 amp each. (825W) I think the 2 x CPU connectors occupy two rails, the 2 x PCIe cables two more rails, and the board and everything else the 5th rail.
