System Specs:
GPU: eVGA GTX 770 4GB Superclocked
CPU: i3 6100 @ 3.70ghz
Ram: 8GB DDR4 @ 2133mhz
PSU: Cooler Master G550Watt

So on friday I installed my GTX 770, I cleaned the drivers from my previous r9 270x with ddu. I installed 368.22 nVidia it started out with minimal lag, played gta on 70 fps at very high settings. Was happy with how everything was running. But SUDDENLY got home yesterday and GTA hasnt hit the 70 fps mark ever since. Its the same for watch dogs only getting 40fps on low and very high, no matter what settings i use most games only give me 40fps. The only game that runs well is Assassins Creed 4 at 60fps on max settings and battlefront at 68 average. there is also massive stutter in watch dogs and at times i have gotten a low memory warning forcing me to close gta and watch dogs. its pissing me off because i cannot find a solution. GTA was workinbg fine a couple of days ago and now it just doesnt want to go past 40-50fps. It also has lag stutter and watch dog constantly freezes than resumes gameplay.

The first thing i did was downgrade my driver to 359.00 which did nothing. Second thing was disable any startup apps. cleaned my pc with disk cleaner and ccleaner. Ran malwarebytes. Changed the settings in nvidia control panel turned vsync on and off NOTHING.

I cannot find any solution whatsoever. My r9 270x was running better than this on the same specs. Anyone got any ideas please?

Solution
i have gotten a low memory warning forcing me to close gta and watch dogs. its pissing me off because i cannot find a solution, if it not temps. that's your clue what running side by side when these are running. almost sounds like a bit coin miner
Might be your psu can't provide the power needed by the gpu.

might be temps

could be classic nvidia drivers killing your gpu so you are forced to upgrade (if you believe this sort of thing)

I would check the gpu's fan speeds and temps, a common "kill the gpu" problem that crops up in nvidia drivers is how they will lock your fan profile at 20% or lower on their old cards and then your gpu will overheat and die -or- temp throttle. Download MSI afterburner and check out what your fan and temps are doing when you're gaming. (btw: if i sound cynical about nvidia, or like an AMD fanboy, understand I own a GTX 970, i'm neither a fanboy of AMD or Nvidia, I just think it's curious how their old gpus all seem to lose driver support and lose performance as time goes on)

Thank you for your input, I checked the temps playing AC4 and Battlefront and it reaches its peak at about 50-60 degrees which is better than my previous GPU. I also ran test on fan speeds and they ran at 40% during gaming.

Fluffa? would constant advertisements, constant popups on Firefox, and the fact that this stupid browser is using almost 100% of my cpu usage everytime I run the it indicate a potential bitcoin miner trojan? Because I am looking into that now...
