I recently heard of a processor with 4 cores and 8 threads that's selling on eBay for around £20. Because this is so cheap, I wish to make a budget build around it, and overclock the CPU to around 4.0 GHz from what I believe is 2.6 GHz. This rig will be for gaming (e.g. Skyrim) and rendering.
Could you guys complete the build and include suggestions? Here's an idea of what the build will be like:
Intel Xeon E5640 - £20
GeForce GTX 970 4GB - £240
Crucial Ballistix 8gbDR3-1600 - £30
EVGA 650 W G2 GOLD 80+ Modular -£70
NZXT S340 - £40
I'm now just looking for a motherboard that will enable me to overclock the CPU to the speed I stated. I'm looking to spend a bit over £100 on it.
