Hello, I've upgraded my GPU from a Radeon HD 7870 to a GTX 970. I'm kinda new to PC building, this is my first upgrade after my first build so I was wondering if I need to upgrade my CPU from i5 4430 to a i5 4670 to get the most of my GPU. Thank you for any help on this. My rig:

win 10 pro 64
i5 4430
2x 8Gb RAM 1600 DDR3
GTX 970

Solution
People understand bottleneck wrongly. No it will not bottleneck if you put a core tow quad with a 970, but it will extremely limit your system. It will bottleneck if you put a 1080 on a pentium 4.
As to answer your question, your CPU should have no problem with operating with a 970. It's a great pair.

bro. there's like a 5% difference between those CPUs. like why waste a whole buttload of money on a useless upgrade. so don't upgrade. you have a very good CPU and there's no need for upgrade. usually people wait at least 2 generations before upgrading, even for gamers. right now even the older i5 2500 is a viable CPU, even then the i5 6600 is out
