Ibrahim_23 :
I currently own an AMD fx8320e but im thingking of switching my mother board and the processor for a I7 4790k, my PC´s card is an gigabyte 970 oc edition.
would i see an increase in performace if i switch CPU´S and if so what would those be?
It looks like everyone is trying to make you not get the i7, and so am I for now, but for a different reason.
I want to tell you to wait for more choices. Your processor right now is a great performer by itself and switching to a processor with less cores or less cores + hyperthreading is going to immediately nerf any multitasking abilities you currently have. Single threaded performance is going to be up the wazoo, but you won't have the noticeable difference you would get from a GPU upgrade (My FX-4100 has been going strong for 2 years after I changed out my GT 430 to a GTX 650 TI) but if you wait till Q3-4, you have the choice of Zen (which has currently been revealed to have close to 2x the performance of Piledriver in terms of IPC), and cheaper DDR4 pricing. If you're going to switch to Z97, you're getting rid of upgradeability in the future and you'll have to pay more for your next upgrade.
So don't let people fool you with performance charts and "single-threaded performance". Wait until you have more choices, then come back and ask us when it's time.
