Hello,
I'm currently looking to build a new computer and I'm planning to use the Dell U3415W as my monitor and the Asus STRIX 1080 for my GPU, however, since the 1080 is not out yet, I'm wondering if my CPU (planning on getting the i7 6700k) I'm planning would be able to handle it for the time until I get my hands on a 1080.

Also, I'm wondering if I should get the Dell U3415W or the Dell S2716DG.
While the S2716DG (1440p) has better response time and refresh rate of 144hz, the U3415W has a 21:9 ratio screen and can still be able to handle 60hz. However the price difference is about $200 and I don't know which one should I get, and since I'm planning to get the 1080, is it better to spend the extra $200? since 1440 should be for the 1070.

Thank you for your time.

The 6700k uses the Intel HD 530 integrated graphics. It will work, you should be able to get 1080p on medium settings until you get the gpu.

The main reason for the $200 price difference is one is a 27 inch monitor, and the other is a 34 inch. If you are more into an all around "wow" experience, I would suggest the UW over the 16:9 one. If you take your competitive games very seriously, then the 27 inch is better due to it's refresh rate. UW will offer a better experience in just about all cases for productivity, multimedia, movies, etc. Especially since you plan to get a 1080, 3440x1440 should be an amazing experience.
