This might be a newbie question but this is my first build so please be gentle...

I am using an Asus Maximus VIII LGA 1151, also purchased 2 X 16 DDR4 memory (Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400MHz) as I read it will support up to 64GB on the 4 slots. I went ahead and downloaded the user manual for the MB to get a better idea of the board and came upon this...

You may install 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB unbuffered and Non ECC DDR4 DIMMS into the DIMM sockets.

Im wondering how you can get to 64GB with this being the case? Am I missing something here? Will my 2X16GB work on the MB?

Thanks so much

At the release of the Z170 there were few to no 16GB sticks available - the chipset and MCs are capable, will want to update the BIOS (many boards are are in a process of still having the BIOSs updated to get the compatibility in for all the new 16GB sticks coming out ;) Should be fine, if problems give me a shout and we can set manually ;)
