New Seagate ST1000DM003, is that noise normal?

I have bought ST1000DM003, and this drive is making disturbing sounds.
Is that normal?

Hey there, openforu.

It sounds normal to me. However, if you are having suspicions that there might be something wrong with it, it's always better to be safe than sorry. I'd suggest that you try it with a different SATA port and different cables, to see if it acts differently and you could also download its manufacturer's diagnostic tool so that you can test it and make sure that everything's OK.
