That's not a fix.
You're basically limiting GPU performance, so it uses less power.

First - make sure PSU can supply enough power for your system needs.
Second - check for BIOS updates for your motherboard and update to latest. It may improve system stability.

Yes, I know this isn't the best way to fix that...
Had that problem and I couldn't find any fixes so I accidentaly entered with screen recording software and it showed fps,
it was like 2000 - 3000 fps and then everything crashes... And then I figured out that this could maybe fix the problem.
