So i just recently got an H100i V2 a couple days ago, this is for my up coming build, i wanted to try it on my AMD system which DOESN'T have a back plate. I went for the zip tie route and i would always have the cooler slip off and scratch something. After using it for a couple hours, messing with the lighting on the pump, i took it off, and i was angry and sad.

Will this scratching result in any performance loss

Yes, but probably not much. The better and more regular the contact, the better the cooler works. The scratches are going to make the thermal transfer to the block much less even, with hotter spots and cooler spots. This could impact the cooling of specific parts of your CPU.

How do did you zip tie it? A pair of good ties may not get the best contact, but the block should not slip off.

There was no mount for the rad, as the case i was using didn't have a support for it, it layed on the side and would occasionly tip and take the block with it
