is a gtx 970 the way to go with a i5 6500?

Hi i'm sort of still new to computers and i'm trying to put together a gaming build and all i need left is a gpu to go with a skylake i5 6500. People say that Nvidia cards are the way to go for shadowplay, so I want a Nvidia card.
What do you guys suggest?

Nope Gtx 970 doesnt worth buying right now , wait a few more days for Gtx 1070 and buy it , Gtx 1070 will be at a simillar price with Gtx 970 but it will like 100 times better like WAYYYY better.
