Hello, after upgrading from my AM3+ motherboard (Gigabyte 990fxa) and fx 8350 to a P67 Motherboard and i5 2500k I no longer hear anything from my two rear speakers (or sub) in my 5.1 surround system. I'm using an older Onkyo system and I can hear everything when configuring levels on the reciever. I'm using an optical input and this is my motherboard. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67/
I have tried using the drivers that came with windows 10 and the realtek ones but without luck. Here is my Windows config.

and it's running 2 channel, 24 but, 96000 Hz (Studio Quality)

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi, Thank you for the reply.
It seems the configure option is grayed-out when using a receiver: http://imgur.com/S0USdzq
I've seen that solutions in other forum posts but all when the speakers connect directly to the sound card. Installing the drivers from Asus also did nothing.

Sounds normal. Most motherboards, while "supporting" Dolby Digital Live and DTS-Connect, don't enable the feature due to licensing fees. As a result, you are limited to stereo when using SPDIF, except in the case where audio is already encoded as either Dolby Digital or DTS.

So it looks like I'm getting a sound card in the near future. Thank you very much for your help ^_^
