I have an overclocked computer and it used to have a stable 4.0GHz over clock now its stable at 2.4GHz and I am looking for advise on what could help stabilize it again

my cpu and mother board are as fallowed

Intel Xeon x5470 Quad Core CPU running at 4.0GHz (overclocked)
Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3LR Motherboard

It looks like the stock speed is 3.33GHz? So a 4.00GHz should not be too crazy to achieve.

Usually, unstable overclocking is due to bad voltage. I would reset your BIOS to get it back to stock voltage and CPU speed. Get your RAM speed, timings and voltage back into check then save and exit to check to see if that worked. After you get your RAM in check I would move to the CPU. The first thing I would do is change the voltage. I would not move it up too far, maybe just a couple clicks up. After you check to see if that is stable via a stress test I would move to the actual speed changing. If the CPU seems to be stable, try moving it up to 3.5GHz and test. Next 3.7 and up from there. If at anytime it crashes or becomes...
