So, now that I have a standalone microphone I just need some good headphones. What are your recommendations? Any price point just don't be ridiculous; i.e I don't need $5000 headphones.

perhaps the mad dogs by mr headphone are worth looking at as well if they must be closed. they are big and heavy though.

a700x/a1000x may be worth looking at if you dont want terrible bass output.

some of the akg cans are fairly mild on bass and are worth considering but tend to be harder to drive so you would want a decent amp.

again, the t70 or t90.

there are tons of options out there in many budget levels (again you were very open and did not specifically list a budget). i did not list all options of course merely a few worth looking at.

if you are going to be spending over 200 on headphones i would suggest spending for a decent amp, soundcard, dac or other equipment but that also depends on what headphone you buy.

you may want...
so $4999 is okay? i do joke but you really need to be more specific.

approximate budget?
do you have an amplifier? is an amplifier okay?
usage?
sound signature?
open or closed?
portable?
do you have big ears, a bit head?
what microphone and are you worried about i picking up audio from your headphones?

if you have no budget, then cans like the he400i, hd600/hd650, dt880-600/dt990-600, t90, k712/k702/k701/q701/k7xx are all good 200-600 headphones worth looking at. if you have a higher budget, stax has some nice ones or the higher end at/beyer/sennheiser/akg offerings are good too.

if you want a better answer you need to give us some info.

I will be mostly doing casual gaming and podcasts. An amplifier is fine but if i can get by without one thats perfect. I don't want the headphones to be bass heavy or anything ,just want everything to sound on a level playing field no heavy bass or anything. Closed headphones preferably, portability doesn't matter and yes, i have a big head.

you may want to note if you use a xlr audio interface for your mic or not.. listing your whole recording setup would be a good thing as well as if you need them to work on other sources like consoles.
