Computer won't turn on after power outage

I was playing on my computer when my power went out and when I try to restart my computer nothing happend so I took the case off and looked in side to only see a red light blinking constantly with a beep which say cpu led and nothing else happens. Please Help

What kind of beeping? Is it a continuous short-long beep? What kind of Mobo are you using?

Oh, and are they short beeps or long beeps? A short beep is a little blip, a long beep is about half a second long.

Was your computer plugged in to a surge protector power strip?

Yes it was plugged into the surge protect. The mother board is a p8p67 deluxe and it's a long beep

Alright, now that I know it's AMI, a continuous beep means memory error, how many how many DIMMs do you have? If you have two, take one out and start, if you only have one, try a different slot.

Yes, try messing with your RAM. Change slots, etc. If that does not work report back

I took one stick out and my computer works now. Does that mean that stick is bad and can't be used or does it mean the slot it was in was bad?

That is great news! Try the stick in another slot, if it does not work, it is your ram stick. Otherwise it is your slot. What configuration did you have the sticks in before?

They were in the 2nd and 4th away from the cpu, I took the one furthest away out which made it work. So where should I try and put they back in at?

Yeah, that was the correct config. I would try them again in the 4th just to make sure, maybe use some canned air to blow out the slot. If that does not work, try the first slot. The RAM will not run as efficiently but it still should work.

The first slot is being blocked by cpu fan so should I just use the 2nd and 3rd slot?

Ah, I see, that would be a problem. Isn't the 2nd already taken? Didn't you say you had 2 sticks?

Ya I have 2 I put one stick of ram in the 2nd and 3rd slot and now it's saying there something wrong with the cpu being over clocked

Alright, RAM is usually pretty finicky. You might be stuck with only one slot for a while. If you want you can try and clear the BIOS before you start up with the 2nd and 3rd config. That is usually hassle however and you will lose anything you did in the BIOS.

I got it to work in the 2nd and 4th slot it works perfectly fine now thanks saved me time.
