Hello guys, I have a Corsair VS450 Watt PSU that can deliver 408 watt on the 12v rail. I was wondering if it would be enough to handle the GTX 1070?
My specs:
i3 4150
8GB Corsair Ram
MSI B85m-G43 MoBo
Corsair vs450 Watt PSU

Solution
It would probably be fine, the 1070 is 150w and your cpu is 54w, so you are likely only ever going to hit around 210w.

Thats said, the 1070 might be a bit overkill considering your using an i3.

Thanks! I found a site called "eXtreme Power Supply Calculator" and it said under max load, my PC will consume 307 watts and recommended PSU Wattage was 357 W. Is that site reliable?
I know that the i3 will be a bottleneck for the GTX 1070, but I will upgrade to an i5 later on. The main reason I'm buying the GTX 1070 is because it'll last very long considering my resolution (720p). I'll of course upgrade (my PC and my monitor) in the future, but right now, I just want to game on a real GPU instead of the intel iGPU!

nahh, from what I've read, it is equal to a GTX 970, but I don't want that because the GTX 970 isn't that good in DirectX 12. I want to buy a GPU that will last me 4~5 years, not 2 years.

What I mean is the GTX 1070 will last longer even if I increase my resolution to 1440p (Which I will) and I won't need to change my GPU any time soon. However, with the RX 480, I'll be running games at low~medium settings in a few years at 1440p resolution, and I don't want that. I want everything at ultra and 4x or 8x MSAA. That's the main reason why I'm going with the GTX 1070.

You are better off starting your own thread, but I'm going to answer anyways. You will be cutting it real close with that system so I'd definitely recommend changing your PSU to 550 or 600 watts as the max amount of power your PC can use is 400 while the PSU can only provide 408 watts, which means you could damage your whole system.
