I have a budget of £650 for the box and I already have the monitor and keyboard and mouse but I'm stuck with what components to buy. I've been looking at the new gtx 1070 and gtx 970 and for cpu I was thinking of an i5 but that the furthest I got any help would be greatly appreciated

Well, make sure that your next monitor supports G-Sync if you end up getting the GTX 1070. And enjoy your build!
