Hey guys in a few months I'm going to build myself a new pc but can't afford a monitor but it's a vga and I'm on budget so will a 1070 or an rx 480 run well without any performance loss if I get an adapter??? E.g hdmi to vga or dvi to vga?

VGA above 1080p is questionable. and an adapter will not really improve upon it,m as it is still going to have to be VGA into the monitor. a RX 480 would be a good idea, as it should great for 1080p gaming, and even some 1440p, a 1070 would be utter overkill.

Hi, I would wait for RX 480 ... that card looks incredible, just wait for benchmarks. And, yes, it should run fine, I've dvi to vga myself that runs without any problems ;)

The 1070 is out of the question as it no longer supports outputting VGA signal. You could get an active adapter, but that's expensive and not worth it.
The RX 480 seems to be going the same route as it doesn't even have a DVI port on the reference design. that being said, the RX will be an excellent card @ 1080p, and, with the difference from teh cost of teh 1070 to the RX 480 you could get a monitor.

The 1070 doesn't support VGA monitors. You'd need to buy an active adapter from DisplayPort to VGA, they're about $30. I don't know if the 480 supports VGA or not, we don't have all the details of that card. Performance wise the 480 should be fine, assuming the claims that it's a bit faster than a 390x are correct.

The newer generation Nvidia card do not support DVI-I anymore. Only DVI-D.
Amd will likely go the same route. Do your due dilligence before posting.

Well, he can use DVI-D to VGA ...

The -D bit means digital only. -I is digital and analogue.

I might be able to afford the active adapter but I'm willing to step down to i5 too if that helps me get a new monitor but I really was looking forward to i7

Hell, no!
That's just a bad build. And you need a monitor alot more than you need an i7. An i5 will do just fine. Also, you can squeeze in an SSD.

Thanks isn't there anyway to make do with my current monitor? Till I save enough for another one I already have a 1tb storage and an optical drive
My budget is 65000₹ so I can't get the monitor am looking to get A complete cpu for now I might sound stupid but just not enough money I don't mind a cheap case as long as the stuff can hold

What i linked is within your budget. Or do you need to include the GPU in that budget aswell?
Regardless, this is what you need to be sure you can use any new card with your VGA monitor:

you have to wait until teh end of teh month(or whenever it will be in india) for the RX 480 to come out. It will be worth it. I have assumed it will cost 15k rupees as it is supposed to seel for $200, but i've allowed in your budget for headroom in case it costs more over there as i know they sometimes do.

Try to find the Seasonic. The CXs are poor quality. You're investing too much money to risk using a bad PSU.
A seasonic s12ii 520w will also do.

Tehre are other options, but they are not available in India as far as i know.
