I have a Lenovo B5400 with one module of 4GB RAM installed. According to specifications it accepts up to16GB of RAM, so recently I bought 2 equal modules of 8GB RAM. The laptop doesn't recognize the module inserted into the second slot. I was tried to exchange modules and the same happens. I can't insert the second module properly, it seems that in slot 2 is missing a black a plastic piece, as you can be seen in this picture:
The blue arrow points to slot 1 who has the piece of plastic, the red arrow points to slot 2 that lacks this piece.
Do you think this part is missing or the problem is something else? I do not think the manufacturer will forget the piece.....
