Built a new Window 10 PC with an Asus DVD (DRW-24F1ST c).

Pressed the eject button, the light came on, but it didn't open.

Right clicked on the device, and clicked eject, light came on, but then got the following message:
An error occurred while ejecting DVD RW Drive :)E).

Right clicked on the device, properties, hardware, properties, and it says it is working properly.

Since the light came on, does it mean it is powered up properly?

Thoughts what might be causing it?

Thanks

Solution

Yes, if the light is on it's getting power.
1. Try rebooting your computer.
2. Unfold a paper clip and then push one end into the manual eject hole (google it)
3. If the disk is out, you've rebooted and the drive is still having issues...
