I don't think I am the only one who is excited about these new releases :) I was wondering if you guys would go with 2 rx480 or with one 1070, i did not include 1080 because it is too expensive for me, feel free to add it too and express me your ideas under the light of what we know so far about these beautiful cards. Probably I will go with 2 RX price and utilation wise, however I can down it to one RX480.

Well the 480s would cost considerably more, use about twice the power, and be noisier than a single 1070. The two 480s would also be subject to Crossfire compatibility issues, and then they still couldn't do PhysX or any of the other graphics settings unique to Nvidia and Pascal.

Sorry about thatt, will be more careful next time

Actually since this is a debate between an Nvidia card and a pair of AMD cards, it would not be appropriate to move it to an Nvidia-only or AMD-only thread. We try to keep those threads free of any AMD vs Nvidia discussion that could lead to the usual arguments.

Well, that is another good point, Probably I will get one gtx1070 along wiht an i5 6600k, however, I will make up my mind when 480 is released, I am so hyped for both of these cards ^^

the 480xfire would not cost hardly anymore than a 1070 would. The 480's release for the 8gb is said to be below $240 and $299 for the 4gb variant. A single 1070 founders is $449 and we all know partner cards will not be the $379 at release they will be at least $400-$429. So if you got the 4gb versions of the 480 you would be at the cost of a single 1070. If you got the 8gb variant you would be just slightly higher than the cost of a 1070. 1070 would still be the better choice though.

In that case, 1070 would be my go to as well...

i always prefer a single card. since i am not shooting for the moon, expecting 200 fps at 5k on triple monitors, i will never need more than a single card can give me.

i'm waiting it out, once both sides have their cards out, i'll make an informed decision for some new builds for my house.
