So I have had this set up since about 2012 I upgraded the GPU a couple years ago. (full system info at bottom)

I am pretty sure I need a new PSU, I am experiencing crashes while gaming getting this log in event viewer "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." while Gaming or running furmark. My temps are not getting above 55C.
EDIT: prime95 also caused the system to crash

So since I'm buying a new PSU I figure I might up grade more stuff while I'm at it. I'm willing to spend about 500$.

I use to keep up with the latest stuff but have been out of the loop for a couple years so bare wit my ignorance.

I am thinking of upgrading GPU and adding some more RAM but was wondering if my aging CPU needs a upgrade also.

So my questions are am I right on the PSU and what do you guys sugest I spend my money on while upgrading what are my priorities? Or should I start saving to start from scratch at this point?

Thanks in advance!

No real preference. Any recommendations for processor mother board and PSU? Something that would allow me to upgrade my GPU maybe in a year or so?

I'm guessing start with psu since this is most probably what's causing the crashes at the moment.

Do you have a price range? And are you planning on heavy game play or more casual?

Right now I'm looking at spending 500 tops. I'm looking at Corsair CX 500 for PSU.

I would be using the PC for gaming. I'm a casual gamer only maybe get a few hours a week I n but I like them to count.

So I'm better off upgrading mobo and CPU over GPU?
