Hi everyone,
I recently got a Dell XPS 200 from a garage sale and was hoping to upgrade from the integrated Intel to play some games that won't blow up its Pentium D. Any ideas? Thanks.

**Also, I realize that this is an old system, I don't want to upgrade anything else because the CPU is maxed out and I already have multiple gaming systems. I just want to game a bit on this particular machine. Thank you.

The PSU is rated to run the Pemtium D. That's what BTXs were made for. The GTX750 runs off of the 65W thePCIe slot provides. The PCIe 16x v 1.0 might be more of an issue but I doubt it. The Pentium D is 130W, the GTX 750 is 65W =195W.
It probably has a 305W PSU.
Be sure the video card is legacy BIOS compatible. This varies from brand to brand. PNY was good for me.
Be sure you have the latest BIOS from Dell there were PCIe updates in some of them.
Given the lack of a PCIe 6 pin connector a low profile GTX750 is as good as it gets. Too bad the chipset doesn't support Core2 Quad like my E520. That 4 phase VRM can run a 130W chip @3.8GHz! Be aware that it's a BTX, the cooler on the card will go away from the other slots. So do some measuring. trimming is often required.
Mine wasn't lo-pro but I had to cut the bracket in 1/2, and trim the plastic cover so air could turn and go out the rear vent. there was no second slot on the left. It's just part of modding a BTX. At Geekbench the fastest Pentium Ds score about the same as the slowest Core2Duo's. It's not the end of the world, it just is what it is. Be sure it has heatpipe cooler D9729. if someone upgraded the CPU it migh t not have it. About $12.

Pentium D's are seriously power hungry CPU's, so your PSU would be a concern.
Any less than 250w and even a GTX 750 may draw more power then you PSU has left to give out.

get a gt 730 its the best you can get if your psu is less than 250W if it is 250w or more a 750 will be fine
