Hello, I have an HP AIO computer. I brought it to a store and they told me it was the CPU or Mobo. (They didn't look inside). I am wondering if I can test if the CPU socket is getting power or works to possibly get a new processor. It's an HP envy 20 D030 (With some changes. I upgraded one of the ram sticks and now have I7 3770). I have tried new ram and no longer have the old CPU.
Can I test if the CPU socket works?

The mobo doesn't support the 3770, it supports up through the 3770S which is a 65 watt CPU the 3770 is a 77 watt CPU

What he said. You can't really test the socket without installing the CPU. A voltmeter can't measure the voltage or current on either side, because the CPU completes the circuit. Without the old CPU or a new one that fits, not much you can do. Do you know what the old CPU was?
