The short of it is, I got a FREE NIB I5-4690K. Its getting hard to find a good affordable (>$150) mATX Z97. This is going into a small form factor Case (Thermaltake V21) and I do plan on overclocking to 4.4 on air or water.

Need help finding a good board. Not picky on brand or features.

Currently looking at ASROCK Z97M Pro4 or Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5

mod edit: i5-4690k, there is no such thing as i5-5690k

Solution
Since the Z97 platform is being phased out in favor of chipsets that support Skylake it's hard to tell which would be a good idea based solely off of pricing since the ASRock Z97M Pro4 is non existent on Newegg. The Gigabyte board is available though it'd be a good idea to express your budget and preferred site of purchase.

If possible you could look towards Asus Gryphon motherboard but it doesn't get any better than the Gigabyte Gaming board unless you've set your eyes on a second hand Maximus VIII Gene
