So, I recently went to Fry's and was trying to find some fans with some decent cfm for my Define S case. Because I have a Corsair H105, I wanted to get Corsair Af140 Led's to go along with the brand. Immediately I was told to buy another brand called AeroCool DS 140's. Even though they had better cfm at the same Db, I never heard of the brand and didn't want anything to do with them.
An hour later I'm back at home with 2 of the Aerocool fans in my case. They are meh.
So my main question about this situation is this: Is it better to buy most of the same parts from the same company, for compatibility sake? Or is it better to have something like, Noctua case fans, Kraken cooler, Corsair Ram etc etc in order to make the case as best as possible?
Thanks.

Usually is better to have specific and specialized brands for each component, generic makers that could make from memory to PSUs to cases being very diferent one from anothers aren't the best choices for each most of the time.
Very good brands sometimes have families of very (good) close related products, like fans or cooling like Noctua but you will not have compatibility problems using others brands.
