Hello every one !
I recently bought msi gtx 960 GPU.

My old motherboard is not compatible so I need a new one.

h61m-vg4 is the one I found in a long time I want to ask if my intel i5 2500 is good for this motherboard.
Socket and watt usage too.

Thank you for your responses

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H61M-VG4/?cat=CPU Explain what you mean by watt usage, but the CPU can't draw more than its 95W TDP.

What I ment is if this MB can easily work with my intel i5 2500. Because I found MB´s wich had supported 1155 socket but only under 75W.
But I think this one is designed for me good. I hope GTX 960 will work with this one as well.

It's on the CPU list; therefore it will work. That motherboard supports several 95W processors.

What motherboard was the 960 not working on? I'm asking because Sandy Bridge platform is not alienated from the latest cards, nor is the generation before. Bios updates have nothing to do with operating systems nor is there any priority to Windows 10. If there was incompatibilities, an bios update would have fixed it which im surprised there isn't any and is the reaosn im asking because we'll look. Motherboards often go through several bios updates.

IPISB - CH2.
Lot of people were asking on Forum´s why does the graphic card dont work with the motherboard. Every one said there is a bios problem and mother board is outdated for updates. When the GTX series came out my mother board was already outdated so this mother board doesnt support any GTX graphic card.

Sadly

The problem now Romesk099 if you were to swap the motherboard for sake of keeping your cpu is your Windows license. OEM's such as HP, the Windows license is not transferable, so you'll find that the old motherboard which Microsoft used to validate your system won't be renewed with the new board online.

Could try giving them a ring though saying there are no replacement boards, they might let you go considering the age of your system.

So what should I do right now?
Is it impossible for me to change the MB amd keep my windows licence? Or I can change it without problems?

You will most likely face problems but you can try. Online activation i assume will fail but if it does, ring Microsoft and see what they can do for you and tell them your predicament with availability of old hardware.

Worst case is you buy Windows 10 again.

You have a sticker with the licence number on your PC? You have no other option than upgrade the motherboard to use the new GPU. Your other option would be to buy an AMD GPU and hope that it works. I doubt Microsoft will give you a hard time because you are forced to replace the motherboard.
