I have MSI g41m-p28 mobo with Pentium dual core E5700 @ 3.0GHz processor. I bought a 4gb ram stick Corsair CMV4GX3M1A1600C11 1600MHz 4GB DDR3 Memory Module , but it won't just work. I assumed it would automatically underclock to 1333 MHz which is my max ram frequency support. I did try all combinations with my old ram module without any success. What should i do?

Solution

MSI G41M-P28 Motherboard supports DDR3 800/1066/1333*(OC) 8 GB ( 2 X 4 GB)

My opinion is to go with 1066 MHz only.
