have been losing a lot of time with this so open to drastic measures
System is Acer Aspire M3985 with NIC Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection.
Came with Windows 8.0, updated to 8.1.
Used Hyper-V for some time so created a virtual switch.
Deleted Intel(R) 82579V in Device Manager before deleting the virtual switch
.. now cant reinstall the NIC :
Tried the drivers from Acer (for win 8.0 because there is no support for 8.1 though) and from Intel (it recognizes the adapter) :
but then there is some strange problem at the end :
Tried to turn off Hyper-V in windows features but it cant terminate.
Any ideas ?
