i have two motherboards, both of which refuse to post.
hardware
- MB1 - MSI (hp) - ms7778 ver1.0
- MB2 - Gigabyte - f2a55-ds3 v 1.0 (new)
- cpu1 - amd a10 6700
- cpu2 - amd a4 5300 (borrowed as the 6700 is incompatible with the inital bios on the Gigabyte board)
- ram - several 2gb sticks of ddr3 1600mhz ram (tested in other pc's, confirmed to work)
-hdd - western digital caviar 500gb
- psu - 430w evga + 2 cheap-o case 350w supplys
i have tried everything, tried 1 stick of ram in each slot, tried resetting cmos, yes the atx 4(8) pin connector is installed, i have also tried tried taking everything but the fan, apu, ram and psu.
nothing works, every combination of hardware refuses to post, the fans spin up but thats it, the speaker does not beep unless i install 0 ram sticks (so the error detection seems to be working at least)
it seems odd that 2 boards would fail at the same time
also i think i should note, on the gigabyte board. when i turn it on the cpu fan will stop and start, i have never seen anything like this before, is this a sign of a dead board or something else going on, bad wall power ( i do live in the country side )?
