Hi guys ...

I am confused between the two processors mentioned above....
i3 6100 costs 118 USD but a guy is selling me a i7 2600 for 128 USD.
I will be pairing them with a gtx 970 or rx 480..Which is the better option for 1080p gaming 60Hz???

Note :I am limited only with these two options..

Thank you..

Do you ever plan on upgrading in the future? If so going with a 5 year old cpu like the 2600k is not the best idea, if you go with the i3 you will be on skylake LGA 1151 and have plenty of room to upgrade. Not to mention im assuming that 2600k is used and so would be the motherboard, 5 years can take its toll on hardware especially if that chip was abused. I would go with the i3 if it were me.

I would go for the i3 personally, its on a much newer platform. The 2600k might be a bit faster not entirely sure, but it is on a much older platform with no upgrade path from there. With the i3 you will be on skylake LGA 1151 and have plenty of room for future upgrades.

The 2600k should be faster but is on a dead socket and uses DDR3. The 6100 will still do a decent job and gives you future upgrade options. I'd go for the i3. Also buying new should be less hassle in the case where something is faulty.

Just add being a K processor (2600k) it could have been stressed to the max with overclocking so need to factor in that risk.

By mentioning that you only have those two options you know that these use different motherbords. As in you cant use the same motherboard for those two options as the socket they use differ. That said, if you want performance the i7 2600k is the conplete winner here. Without a doubt, and its also overclockable, it will eat anything you throw at it. Speaking if experience as you can check my signature. Running the same cou for 5 years now and never had a problem.

Its the wrong place btw this js the graphic cards section

The i3 will be a bottleneck if ur gonna pair it with a 980 or a 970. The 2600k is still a powerful cpu and nothing wrong with it. It can still give a couple of years and is the best option if you want performance.
