First time build, need help with compatibility and parts, any sugestion/advice?

i've been trying to build a mid to high-end gaming/workstation-highly OC'able PC for some time; for 4 months i've done the research needed to build my machine trying to squeeze as much money as i could for the limited budget: $1500 USD

This is what i've got so far:

PCPartPicker part list

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor ($378.75 @ B&H)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 CPU Cooler ($79.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock X99 OC Formula EATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard $600 USD aprox. (will buy in my country for shipping/taxes complications)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($39.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: PNY CS1311 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($59.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2GB Tri-X Toxic Video Card ($240.93 @ Amazon)

Total: $1489.64

main issues are:
1. Are there any other pieces of hardware that offer the same performance fow a loer cost? i'm afraid i will not get even a half-decent case with what's left from the budget (but please suggest cases nontheless!)

2. Will the Noctua fan cooler fit? i've chosen the 2011 special edition which comes with the necessary parts to fit LGA 2011 sockets but my mobo's is LGA 2011-v3 is there any difference? also i want to know if the RAM clearance is enough for this fan.
On a side note i also want to learn how to change the fan's color (noctua's color scheme is horrible) to follow my machine's black/yellow scheme without destroying the fan in the process.

i encourage you to make any other suggestion you want, it would help me a lot!, it is the first time i try to actually build something and i'm no expert in this

To answer your first question, while I won't argue your motherboard offers a plethora of features, for your purpose, it is absolutely overkill. This Asus board will perform nearly identical, and it won't impact performance.
Most Noctua cooler ship with proper mounting hardware now for X99, so I wouldn't worry about the SE2011 cooler. If your cooler does not, Noctua will typically ship you the mounting hardware for free.
If you are doing video editing or using this as a workstation, you need more than 8GB of Ram. I added 32GB which will perform much better, as X99 utilizes quad channel much better than dual.
The SSD I selected is m.2 and is much, much, much more fast than the PNY SSD you had selected.
That graphics card is not worth it at this point, as both the R7 370 and 380 outperform it.
The 380 I have selected will perform great, and I highly recommend Sapphire for AMD cards.
The power supply you had was fine, but I opted for a cheaper model which will still perform great. Completely up to you though, as my budget has $15 left over.
Finally the case is a great find. It is silent, stays cool, and fairly high end.

Wow thanks! this is a hell better of a setup :) (i'll still want to keep the ASRock though... guess i'll wait and save a bit more to have it thanks nontheless)
