Raid 1 cd/dvd drive device driver missingIm installing windows 7 on a x11ssm-f mother board with 2 ssd in a raid 1 and when i get to the install screen it tells me that a required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing. i downloaded the driver and put it on a cd. Inserted the cd into my usb cd/dvd drive( same one i used to load the os) then click browse and it doesnt show any drives besides the X: drive.

Hello... the CD/DVD must be recognized and working from the BIO's/MB hardware FIRST... Typically no Drivers are need for the BIO's and Windows... they are not anything special in communications since Win98? they are an IDE device.

it could be DEAD, cable or power problem to it? if all the above checked out... Try it in another Computer B )

This is not solved. Ironsounds, rob had mentioned that he is halfway through installing his OS when it prompts him for raid dvd/cd drivers. You cant use the motherboard intel raid drivers as it no longer recognises your dvd. The answer is to copy the drivers from your Motherboard Driver utility disk to a USB and plug the usb in to a USB 2.0 port when prompted during the OS install. If you dont have the Driver CD you can download them from the manufacturers website. If you have the CD but dont have another computer to copy them to USB, try lookin in the Bios UEFI, I know that AsRock have an "easy raid install" function that will copy the required drivers from the CD to a USB disk for you.
