i've just bought a new monitor (benq XL2430T) a 144hz monitor.
i previously had a HD acer 21.5 inch montior made in like 2012, 60hz
aswell as a really old samsung one that is also 60hz and is a 4:3 at 720p.
my graphics card is the radeon HD7770, i can't fully remember my processor but its something like: amd fx400
Before i bought my new monitor i was having issues with my CPU overheating, i think this was due to my surroundings as it was summer and i had moved my ps4 next to my pc, which made it hot. because of this my pc would crash.

with the new monitor, i used displayport to connect it and dvi on my acer one. i stopped using the samsung one.
I haven't tried other games yet but when i run CSGO, i start a game and after about 30 seconds -1 minute my pc loses connection to my monitors and my monitors dont recieve a signal. the sound is csgo does a small loop, i can't do anything in my pc as it cant see it nor does things like ctrl alt delete do anything. Also music (itunes, youtube) will keep playing, but not on a loop.

i thought that my pc couldn't handle 144hz, which confused me because i was running csgo at about 150-200fps. so i tried using hdmi, and my pc doesnt have hdmi 1.4 so my monitor was now at 60hz. Same problem

this whole thing has just started as my new monitor has come and i dont know why, something about my graphics card is crashing with my new one. I have the latest amd drivers. Please help i dont know what to do!

Thanks for the reply, i used that software and removed the cover on my pc and I was also experiencing the same problem and my GPU temperature was normal.

I have noticed now that my PC will do the same thing when im just on my desktop. I leave my computer for about an hour and it happens, it just seems to happen more sooner when i play csgo and probably other games too.

Hello... 3) If something is a timed event? check your OS power Plan... should be set too "performance" and look deeper into those setting... shut off any Sleep/hibernations/or power limiting settings.

4) 144hz is a digital clock (communcations) signal... and there are No HDMI or DISPLAY port Specs OR cables to handle this yet... "Buyer Beware" Dual link DVI is the only way. There are HDMI and Display PORT 120HZ setting under the right hardware and cable construction.

There seems to be a CS:GO madness going on here about running "crazy high" frame rates to your hardware and EYE's Can you PLEASE explain that too Me?... as I am a NOOB and prefer VSYNC when I game B )

Hello... isn't linked, sync'd Or blinked at... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort
it is a "Communication Clock/sync signal"... and you can only achieve 60 HZ clock Lock/Sync with 1.2 "Buyer Beware"

source WIKI :

"In January 2013, a new VESA specification was released called DisplayPort Dual-Mode Standard version 1.1, which brings dual-mode capabilities on par with HDMI 1.4, allowing a TMDS clock rate of up to 300 MHz, 1080p deep color, 4K resolution, and stereoscopic 3D formats. Passive adapters and ports which support the new data rate will be marked "Type 2" and will be backwards compatible with existing "Type 1" ports."

As I have shown you... there are scientists and experts that create Communication "standards' as which a maker and user, Knows what he is getting... It Public Knowledge and NOT MAGIC... the Monitor makers got an early start on One part of the standard... BUT it takes all the parts together, as a whole... Too let the system run to that "Standard."

solution:

Turns out the heat sync in my processor was clumped with dust aswell as the fans in my pc. After getting the dust out with a compressed gas cannister, my pc worked fine with no crashes. Thanks for the help :)
