Hey guys im going to give my old acer aspire am5630 to my little brother. Right now it comes with 2gb ram a r7 250, q6600 processor (acer eg31m motherboard), windows vista 32bit, and a 320gb hd. I want to upgrade to 4gb ram but I know that windows vista only supports 3gb ram. If I install windows 7 64but on the pc will it be able to use 4GB+ ram? (the motherboard is a acer eg31m btw).

Double checked the motherboard specs, max RAM support is 4GB of DDR2. Reinstalling windows x64 will be a lot of work for getting what amounts to I believe an extra 500mb of RAM. The Vista 32bit will support 4GB with 3.4 usable due to system limitations, installing the x64 Windows will only get you up to that 4GB max that your motherboard supports.
