I have some issues with building my first PC, i'm using an old HP case that was given to me by my parents with the same SSD. Bought a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 motherboard, new AVG CPU, EV3A GEFORCE GTX 960 Graphics Card and a 500W EV3A PSU. I went through all the manuals and installed everything as the manuals said, but it won't turn on. Any advice helps.

When you press the power button, does nothing happen at all? No fans or disks spinning? Are any LEDs lit anywhere? I don't know your specific motherboard, but many have an LED that lights when standby power is applied, i.e., PSU plugged in and switched on, but PC is not running. Are there any indications of life anywhere in your system? Or is it absolutely, totally dead?

There are plenty of threads on Tom's that cover 'system won't POST / boot', etc. Have you looked at those? There is a great deal of excellent information there. The first place to start is the PSU - does it start up if you disconnect all loads, and connect the green wire to any adjacent black wire? Do you have (or can you borrow) a cheap PSU tester?

It needs 400 watts and it's 500 watt PSU. It just doesn't turn on.

The PSU should be able to power on all components. If not, that's the problem. Also, your memory, do you have any? If yes, is it seated properly? Check if all cables are plugged in one at a time. Also check the power button itself.
