Ok someone shed some light. I spent £1.8k on my build.
I7 5820k
64gb 2133mhz ram
R9 290x 8gb vapor x gpu
As rock x99 extreme4
1tb samsung evo 850 ssd
500gb samsung evo 850
250gb Kingston ssd
3tb 7200rpm hdd
2tb 7200rpm hdd
But sony vegas STILL lags and stutters when I go through a layered and complex timeline at BEST - FULL preview window settings.
I over clocked all the way upto 4.4ghz from 3.3ghz via optimised OC in Bios and it makes no diffrence in Sony Vegas 12.
I also tried the 5960x cpu. Again makes no difference.
Is it too much to ask for a completely lag free editing experience!?
If I had known I would of stuck to my i7 3770k and continued editing at best settings - auto as there was no lag.
I don't care about rendering speeds as that can be done while I'm asleep or out of the office. But the editing experience has to be lag free so I can be creative.
