Hello everyone. I'm building my first pc and I was wondering how many watts I need through my PSU.
This is my build so far...
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/C7mP6X

I know pcpartpicker says that it needs 393W, but I read that my graphics card needs at least 500W, but I'm not sure if that is true.

Thanks for any help in advance.

PS: if you have any recommendations concerning my build, please let me know :)

With 500 watts it will be enough, but I would still recommend you to pick out a 600w powersuppy. Also do yourself a favor and jusr buy one more stick of 8gb ram.

The cpu cooler that comes with the box is enough so you dont need that extra cooler, unless you plan to overclock. Then you shoud get a 212 EVO and a K(unlocked processor)

Hope this helped ;)

Thanks a lot!

Also, just a question: what kind of difference would that extra 8gb of ram make exactly?

In most games it wouldn't make any difference, but for games like Batman: Arkham Knight or newer like Quantum Break things get a little heated.

Plus it's just a future proofing precaution. Games are gonna demand 16 gigs sooner or later.
That being said, you don't have to buy 16 GB straight away... you coud upgrade in a couple of months.

Ah yes, I see. I think I will save that for another time though, but thanks.
