Solution
Hi there Raijin_,

Unfortunately, it seems that the drive is failing or has failed.
As your system can't boot when the drive is attached, you have a couple of options:

Try using a different OS. You can boot up Ubuntu from a CD or a flash drive and see if the drive would be recognized. In case it is, you need to back up the data stored on it ASAP: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/267999-32-recover-data-mode
Attach the drive as a secondary one, after the system has already booted. Obviously, you can't do that internally. So, you will need to attach the drive externally via SATA to USB adapter and a power cord(if case the drive is 3.5'').
IF it gets recognized, again, you need to back up the data. After that, you can test it...

Have you tried swapping the SATA cable on your new hard drive in case it is faulty? What make/model is your motherboard? you might have to set the hard disk controller mode from IDE to AHCI within the motherboard BIOS.

OK, so a few questions.... Where you able to boot into windows before? and if so What version of Windows are you using?

Did you swap the disks to different SATA ports on your motherboard? It sounds like the MBR has been corrupted because of this. This means that the OS boot drive letter has been changed after the move. You should disconnect the new drive, and get your old one booting again before you try to reconnect the new one.

You could try to repair this via command prompt. HERE is a guide on doing this
