Dell xps 8300 On board graphics

I recently bought a used xps 8300 (i7) for a good price on ebay because the computer has graphics card that is overheating. My question is, if I remove the bad card, will the computer automatically look for a monitor in the on board graphics, or will I have to switch it over in the bios? If I do have to change a setting, does anyone know where it is in the bios? I would rather not buy a video card until I make sure everything else on the machine works. I have another machine, and I could remove the card from that machine while I work on new one, but I's prefer to avoid that. The old card is Ati Radom. I don't know the number, as at this point I only have a photo.

It should automatically default to the integrated graphics when you remove the GPU.
