I'm looking for a solid/reliable mid-range mobo for Skylake.

In the past I've teetered on the edge of budget (but making sure I research for good quality). For example for the past three years I've been running an FX6300 on the GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+.

The 990FXA has worked well for almost 3 years but it feels like I've been bandaging it up over the years... little things (not big things) going wrong over time. I've been doing pretty decently at "bandaging" it to continually work, improvising ways to go around issues, but at the same time it takes a bit too much time and stress to do so. Not to mention spending time overclocking and tweaking LLC and crap. It didn't feel really "future proofing" rather than "I know this will work for 3 years but I know those 3 years will require constant maintenance, not to mention the limit of AM3+).

I understand 3 years is pretty good for a build. But I'd rather have 3 years of solid, non-maintenance work lol. Especially as I am looking to start with an i3 6100 and it can be upgradable to i5 and/or i7 later.

So this time around I'm looking for a more solid and reliable motherboard, LGA1151. I want to move away from my tendency for bang-for-the-buck value, towards something mid-range. However not to the point of $200+.

Any suggestions? To repeat, a reliable/solid/midrange LGA1151 board. USB 3.1 hopefully but if not that's okay as reliability is more important. Z170 vs H170 not the priority, either.

Thanks in advance, all!

Fake edit: Oh yeah, side note. I've also been using a Corsair 200R the whole time. Should I just keep that instead of buying a new case?
