re-install drivers for gtx 1080?

Solution
Nvidia have drivers optimised for these later Pascal cards, so, yes, it'll be a good idea to update.

As JackNaylorPE says, disable Win 10 from auto updating first then:

Download and save the latest WHQL drivers ONLY from the Nvidia or manufactures site, but don't install yet. There is plenty of other places, but many are riddled with nasties, avoid them.
Uninstall the current drivers.
Power down the system.
Swap cards.
Boot up-note the display will be poor, you'll only be using Windows basic drivers at this stage.
Install the drivers you saved out earlier (they'll be in the Downloads part of Documents) using the clean install option.
Restart as required and be aware, the screen my go blank or flash during the install, it's normal...

I would, its only a good idea to completely uninstall old drivers whenever you are making a hardware change.

It's recommended. Make sure, especially if you have Win10, to disable Windows Update from ever installing hardware drivers. You will find the procedure listed on the appropriate web sites

After doing that ...

1. Uninstall drivers and shut down
2. Swap cards
3. Boot and install latest drivers

If anything goes awry, after step 1 use a registry cleaner like Ccleaner to delete all registry entries referencing "nVidia" .. alternately try one of the various tolls that automate the process.
