Dear Tom's Hardware,

A while ago I made a post to get some information on what parts i could reuse or should have to replace of my factory pc (Hp pavilion) - (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2767764/gaming-parts-compatibility.html?575874b949f09=reload) .

Now that I've gathered several parts ( Cooltek X3 case and XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply) I still need to make the choice of the Graphics card. While I was recommended by some kind people on this forum to take the GTX970 for my build, I still wonder if that isn't maybe a bit of an overkill? What I'm looking for is not to play all the latest games at 60FPS on ultra, I want it to just run smoothly and look decent. (e.g. : I play Dark souls III with every setting on low, and still get disconnected when there are even just too many enemies on the screen, it runs at about 15-20FPS max...) What I'm looking for is a graphics card that could manage it on medium or high settings with 30FPS overall being enough.

So I would very much appreciate it to be helped with picking out a good graphics card that'd be compatible with my current parts. I have looked around myself a bit and apparently a AMD Radeon RX 480 has more than enough capability? Would that be compatible with the other parts? (I don't really know much much about AMD graphics cards so)

Thanks
Alex.

Solution
Yes the RX 480 will be compatible. The card itself is more powerful than the 970, on paper at least it appears to be something like 10-15% under the 1070.
