Hello everyone, not sure if I am in the right forum, please move if it's not.

I am wanting to install a USB HUB in my car. But I need it to be able to transfer data and be able to charge devices via USB such as phone or tablet etc.

I know there are hubs that offer Smart tech that charge your phone but they don't do Charging AND data transfer.

I need the hub to have the ability to data transfer and charge from the same USB port.
I have a Nexus 7 2013 in my car and while the current hub I have can transfer data it charges so slow that if I leave my phone running it will die because the usb port charges so slow like 500mA.

Let me know if anyone has some suggestions thanks all.

Oh the Hub doesnt have to be specific for a vehicle as I can cut wire etc the power source.

Most car chargers are chargers only, not capable of data transfer.
If you're asking this question, you'll likely need an easy solution, rather than doing any electrical work yourself.
I have a few Anker products, they are all really good.

Start with one of these:
https://www.anker.com/products/A2310012

Then add this:
https://www.anker.com/products/A2125111

This will give your 4 port hub 2.4A total with data transfer. You can always use the 2nd port for 2.4A charging only.
(btw... "2.4A charging on each port"... but you didn't say how many ports)

That hub can produce 6A total, which is enough for 2 tablets and 1 phone at the same time.
If you want that sort of power, you'll need to find a transformer to bring your car's 12v up to...

If you want that sort of power, you'll need to find a transformer to bring your car's 12v up to 100-240v, with enough amps. Then wire that internally.

There are hubs with much more power output. I have an 8A 5 port, but the one I linked would probably install quite nicely in a car.
