Hi, i really suck at building a pc, so was really hoping i could get some help filling in the blanks, so far the only things i know i want are a couple things that are on sale where i am and the gtx1070

So far its just Samsung Pro SSD 500gb (you can run the entire PC on an SSD right?)
GTX 1070 graphics card
and DDR4 16gb ram, theres a bunch on sale not sure which ones to get

So i need some help filling in the blanks, which motherboard will it all fit on, what CPU should i get i7 maybe? 6700 or 6700k? and what PSU would i need for all of that and lastly what pc case will it all fit in? not really looking to overclock but ive had overheating issues before on my old rig without overclocking, also its mainly just gaming and browsing but i do a little video editing from time to time and i'd probably get a VR headset some time down the line.

Thanks everyone.

You can overclock with this setup. If it costs too much, let me know your budget.
With the case and fans I selected (for front intake and top exhaust), you won't run into overheating issues at all.
Here you go:

Would i be able to plug in an i7 6700k instead without needing to change anything else? its currently on sale so the price difference isnt huge.

After researching all night and bagging the 20% off the 3 items i bought are the i5 6600 non k(i never overclock), samsung 850pro SSD and Asus Z170 Pro gaming motherboard, not sure if that will spark any major changes in the rest of my build, thanks for the nudges in the right direction so far, your list was extremely helpful.
