I find memory very confusing. I know I need an 8gb (2x4gb) ddr3 dual channel kit. That part I understand. What i find confusing is that there are so many different types of dual channel ddr3 kits out there. My friend, who has built many computers just told me to get a G Skill ripjaws x 8gb ddr3 set but there are three different sets sold by my local pc store.I need help answering these three questions:
1. does my motherboard support non-ecc, ecc registered and/or un-buffered chips?
2. does my motherboard/cpu support any of these (link below) modules?
3. out of those modules that it does support (if any) which one is best?
My motherboard: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z97-GAMING-5.html#hero-overview
My CPU: http://ark.intel.com/products/80811/Intel-Core-i5-4690K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz
