So I have a brand new PC, installed windows, it worked, computer restarted and it sent me back to BIOS.

The SSD is set as boot priority 1. The only way windows will load/boot is if I manually click it on boot override.

Thank you for your time.

Hey there again, @maf1017!

You need to check the hyperlink in my previous post to see how to get the BIOS reset. It's a tutorial with a couple of different methods to perform the reset.
You will need to reinstall Windows only if you had both the SSD and the HDD plugged in when you were installing it the first time. This would explain the booting issue, if there is an OS confusion present. The OS Confusion occurs when there are more than 1 SATA devices connected to the motherboard at the time of the installation. It basically scatters the system files across all the SATA drives.
I'd suggest you reset BIOS first, and re-configure any changes you have made there manually afterwards. Hopefully, that will fix the startup...
Hey there, maf1017!

I'd recommend you try to resolve the issue by resetting BIOS . You will need to reconfigure the settings you have manually tampered with afterwards, but it might as well resolve your issue. Another thing you could try is checking your motherboard manufacturer's website for any BIOS updates for your model.

Hope it helps you. Good luck! :)

I have a Asus Maximus VIII Ranger MOBO, from what I gather it is a UEFI BIOS. I am a little unsure of what you mean though, sorry.

Do I need to clean install windows? Or just reset now. I have a SSD and a HDD. I don't know whether it matters but I installed Windows via a USB. Thanks for your help!

If it doesn't, then you should probably do the clean install, indeed. Another thing worth the try is updating your BIOS version from the motherboard manufacturer's official website. Make sure you refer to the motherboard manual for the step-by-step instructions.

Keep me posted.
